Cebu - CNY

We headed to Cebu in the Philippines for Chinese New Year.

We spent 7 nights at Abaca Resort, which is this lovely little boutique resort (9 rooms in total) with a fantastic restaurant located about 10 minutes from the aiport.

We had a poolside/oceanfront suite (see pic below - our room was the bottom left) for 6 nights, and then spent a night in one of their Suites (we got a complimentary upgrade)!! The resort is absolutely beautiful, and given its size - is completely relaxing. Considering it is only a 2 hour flight from HK, it makes for the perfect weekend getaway! Highly recommended :)

The Villa - we had a fab plunge pool and private courtyard all to ourselves!! Not to mention the bath - oh I love baths!!!!

The food was divine!

We spent our days by the pool, reading and relaxing. We were literally there from sunrise, to sunset ...coffee through to cocktails (and of course, some champagne) !! The ocean (which was right in front of the pool) was sooo crystal clear, amazing...

We couldn't even drag ourselves up to the restaurant for breakfast and lunch - so we opted to have it by the pool (the view was too nice)!!

One night we ventured into Cebu City to The Terraces, and went to The Gustavian for dinner. We also went to Shangri-la's Cowrie Cove for dinner one night - but all the others we spent in the resort!!

We took a day trip out to one of the islands Pandanon, which was about an hours trip from the resort. It was so pretty, and there were plenty of shells to collect (which is one of my favourite things to do) :)

This is the little church on Pandanon - it has to be the best church location I have EVER seen!!

Can you believe this, right in front of where we were sitting on the island, they started filming a porn movie!!! It was surreal. They were only shooting the female part, but it was so unbelievable. The island was quite remote, what are the chances!!! They took absolutely no notice of us and continued to film for about an hour!! Next time your watching a Japanese porn, if you see 2 people sitting on the beach in the back of the scene - it could be us, we could be famous!!!

We went jetskiing for the first time - it was SOOOOO much fun !!

We also spent a day in the CHI spa at the Shangri-la. The spa is set on 1 acre of land, and is absolute heaven. We spent some time in the communal facilities, then had our own private villa for the day and 2 therapists - we had 4.5 hours of treatments, including body scrubs, body wraps, Himalayan bath ritual, massage and facial, and then finished off with lunch in the spa restaurant. It was super relaxing, the therapists were perfect, and the whole experience complete BLISS. Totally recommend it!!

Christmas Holiday

As usual we headed home to the Sunshine Coast for Chrissy. We had 2 wonderful weeks catching up with our family and friends - it was fantastic!!

As soon as we arrived we headed to lunch with the gang at Cru on James Street. It was so nice catching up with everyone - just wish we had longer to see them:(

We also managed to squeeze in 5 nights in Noosa (right on the beach) - which was sooo nice!! Zoe & Saf joined us from Hong Kong. It was there first trip to Queensland - and luckily, we had perfect weather the entire time.

This was the view from our balcony!!

We spent some time catching up with Deanne and Larry - it was so lovely to see them. Laz taught Saf how to fish - he was in heaven!!

Dad had the old gang around at his house for the NY period - it was lovely to catch up with the boys (and Leisha)!! Some things never change...

We went to visit Michelle, Gen and Tim up at the farm. Unfortunately Jess and Verity didn't make it home this year which was such a shame and we missed them dearly:(

Pop cooked the grandkids one of his famous fish dinners - it was sooooo good!!

We spent a day in Bris catching up with Clint, Kathy, Lara, Tahlia, Bill and Louise. Our twin nieces are growing up SOOOO fast!!

We also stopped in to see Damian, Melitta and little adorable Sofia :)

Christmas day was spent in the usual way - racing from one place to the next...but we wouldn't have it any other way :)

Our adorable nephew !!

Val and Ang cooking all of the Christmas treats - yummmmm!!!

Dan & Val bought a boat just before Christmas and they took us out for the day up the Noosa river. It was such a lovely way to spend the day, and we wished that we still lived down the road so we could enjoy it more...

The fam - even Nath & Anna were home this year. It was so lovely to have the whole family together - and we even managed not to fight:)

Shaneena, Ant, Charlotte, Harry, Georgia and Sean were all up the Coast too. The kids are sooooo adorable!!!

We spent some time on the beach with Will's brothers!

We also caught up with Roz (my godmother). It is always so lovely to visit her and I only wish we had more time to spend together:(
Our last day - just before we jumped in the car and headed to the airport...so sad !!

At the airport Tim, Ruth and Ben came to say hello. Ben has grown sooo big now - we are hoping they come to visit us in HK this year (hint, hint)!!
The good news is, this year we plan to make a few more trips home. Will is undertaking his masters through Uni of NSW and has 2 residential weeks a year in Sydney (I have already booked my leave and told him he can't go without me :)
